Los Angeles, CA, May 13, 2020 - CBS affiliate WCCO recently spotlighted Sheryl Underwood Radio’s Lending A Helping Hand initiative for its $1000 contribution to YouthLink Minneapolis, a non-profit that serves homeless youth.
This $1000 contribution to the organization is “to help Youthlink Minneapolis in our effort to remain open 24/7during COVID 19, and to serve youth, 18-24, who are experiencing homelessness,” says Dr. Heather Huseby, Executive Director.
Sheryl Underwood, from CBS television’s THE TALK, is the namesake of Sheryl Underwood Radio. Underwood established the SUR Lend A Helping Hand Initiative as a way to help those who help the community or those who are struggling financially during the coronavirus pandemic.
Iota Zeta Zeta Chapter member and Minneapolis resident Lutunji Abram heard about the effort on KMOJ, one of the 491 Sheryl Underwood Radio affiliate stations. Abram called 1-855-SHERYL-1 to submit Youthlink Minneapolis.
Underwood says, “I would like to thank Iota Zeta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and KMOJ for being our eyes and ears on the ground and CBS’s WCCO for spotlighting Sheryl Underwood Radio’s Lending A Helping Hand.
A new recipient is announced every Friday as part of the Sheryl Underwood Radio: Lend A Helping Hand initiative.
