Lauryn Hill, Oasis & Shakira Among 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Nominees
Seventeen genre‑defining artists move one step closer to music’s highest honor.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled its 2026 class of nominees, spotlighting 17 iconic artists whose influence spans rock, hip‑hop, R&B, pop, metal, and Latin music. The announcement was made on February 25, 2026, officially opening fan voting ahead of this year’s induction ceremony.
Leading the nominations are Lauryn Hill, Oasis, and Shakira, joined by a powerhouse roster that includes Mariah Carey, Phil Collins, Pink, Wu‑Tang Clan, Luther Vandross, Jeff Buckley, INXS, Melissa Etheridge, New Edition, Iron Maiden, Billy Idol, Sade, Joy Division/New Order, and The Black Crowes. Several artists — including Hill, Shakira, Pink, and Wu‑Tang Clan — appear on the ballot for the first time, while others return following previous nominations.
According to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, this year’s ballot reflects the evolving definition of rock music and its continued cultural impact across generations, underscoring how the Hall embraces innovation alongside legacy.
Artists become eligible for nomination 25 years after the release of their first commercial recording and are considered across multiple categories, including Performer, Musical Influence, Musical Excellence, and the Ahmet Ertegun Non‑Performer Award. The official Class of 2026 will be announced in April, with the induction ceremony set to take place later this year.
